Do you need both a workout app and a food app?
Usually yes, and for most people that is fine — two good apps beat one mediocre one. The split only costs you when the two halves need to talk to each other.
When two apps is right
If you are happy with each app, or you only genuinely care about one side, paying for the half you do not use is the waste.
What the split costs
Two subscriptions, two logging habits, and neither app able to see the other half of the picture.
When one app is worth it
When your training load should be changing what you eat, and what you eat should be changing what you are asked to lift.
